Shoulder numbers for the Leafs debuted in the 1961-62 playoffs, which Boston missed.
Interesting that Perrault had a white border around his black shoulder number while his teammate did not.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9077405078272544750.post-69239544581733505382018-06-19T21:16:39.262-07:002018-06-19T21:16:39.262-07:00Upon second look, I have to agree that this was in...Upon second look, I have to agree that this was in Boston Garden. The stands beyond the boards have the distinct tiering of the Garden. I'm still unsure if it can be 61/62 though, the Leaf sleeve numbers weren't added until the following year. Anyway, lots of fun to try and solve these!Nitzyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05932653629376470374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9077405078272544750.post-10817724956180125382018-06-04T15:18:14.961-07:002018-06-04T15:18:14.961-07:00Hi!

Most visitors wore white in Boston Garden, but the Maple Leafs usually chose to wear blue. This particular Leaf jersey debuted in the 1961-62 playoffs and remained in effect until the 1963-64 playoffs, when the jersey with the outline around the leaf came into play. And a look at the net with the double mesh in the bottom third of the cage tells me the picture was from the Boston Garden.
Love these old pics and your fabulous site!
Chris Mayberrynoreply@blogger.com
